The basics of transferring a call and using 3-Way Conference

These are the two most commonly used features of any phone system, so we figured we'd get you ramped up right away.

Transfer a Call Directly

When you route a caller directly to another phone extension, the destination phone will display the caller's details but not your phone's details. This type of transfer is called a "Blind Transfer".

  1. During the call, press the TRANSFER key. This puts the current caller on hold.
  2. Press the BLIND key to indicate that you don't want to introduce the call.
  3. DIAL the extension of the person you want to transfer the call to, then press SEND.
  4. Press SEND to complete the transfer.

Transfer a Call, but talk to the person that you're transferring to first

The "Attended Transfer" feature lets you speak with the person at the destination phone before you pass on the call. The destination phone will display your phone's information but not that of the caller.

  1. During the call, press the TRANSFER key. This puts the current caller on hold.
  2. DIAL the extension of the person you want to transfer the call to, then press SEND.
  3. Wait for the person to answer and then INTRODUCE the call (i.e. "Hi, Jim. I have Joan on the line for you -- may I transfer the call?")
  4. Press the TRANSFER key again to complete the transfer.

Conference Call (Three-Way)

You can bring three phones together into a single call: yours and two other phone numbers or extensions.

  1. Dial on of the other parties. Once connected with the first party, press the MORE key, you will now be able to press CONFRNC. This puts the first caller on hold.
  2. DIAL the number or extension of the second party (i.e. 101) and press SEND.
  3. Wait for the second party to answer. Then, press the MORE key, you will now be able to press CONFRNC to join the calls together. To end the conference press END CALL. This will remove you from the conference but keep the other two callers active.
  4. To un-join the calls after or during a conference call, use the SPLIT key.
